Thousands of women and girls around the world every day are raped, sexually . In Italy are encouraged to report their rapists, even though, the penalties imposed by the courts do not always correspond to their expectations.
E 'is known, however, that the percentage of rapes of which it is known, is much lower than its actual number. Very often they occur in the family and involve people who have access to women's lives: fathers, brothers, uncles, grandparents, close relatives, family friends, neighbors, acquaintances.
In criminal circles, sexual violence, are used as punishment and threat.
The identikit of the rapist is a person's hostile manifested by the sexual abuse that feeds hatred and contempt towards his victim trying on her body, the excitement of his revenge and personal affirmation.
A confusion between delusions of power and sexual excitement ...
Some people associate sexual violence to the strength and power and consider the male erection as a representation of that power.
Many husbands practice the sexual abuse of their wives they deem guilty of shortcomings in marital relations.
Or even just to prove their supremacy ...
TG still relive the news when they talked of mass rapes committed by Bosnian Serbs on poor women. We are talking about 50 thousand women raped in camps. For Amnesty International, only thirty of these cases has been established a process of which 18 are before the International Court in The Hague and 12 by the judges for war crimes in Sarajevo. In addition to having suffered serious injuries, the victims are stigmatized by society. Several of these abused women are afraid to speak publicly because unfortunately many of their rapists, they live in their own communities, where, unfortunately, have taken positions of power.
No continent is immune to the conflict to this horrible crime. Recently there has been much talk about the rapes committed in Africa, Asia and America.
Sexual abuse is a weapon used to humiliate entire civilian population, to divide families and commit genocide, both physical and psychological.
Many abused women, suffer from their husbands because they further injustice, expressing discomfort and anger against them, the refuse and reject, especially when, as a result of the rapes, are pregnant.
The resolution of the Security Council (1820) condemns rape as a weapon used by the belligerents, but despite this, the rape trials restano pochissimi e ancora meno sono le condanne inflitte.
